EWT Blogs                      k00121609                    2017 Blog 4_week 4: I have been looking at Xtensio templates for the audience analysis of the website. It has been said that when we are making design decisions to refer to the personas and their requirements and that you can get 80% of requirements from personas. This week I created the personas as per template using Xtensio; completed Balsamiq wireframes and Adobe Illustrator designs; finished the moodboards and the navigation map. I created summaries for the main articles which would be used in the mobile and tablet views. The main articles fill most of the desktop page, so I added a scroll bar on this sized browser for the user to view more information. For the advert’s, I selected 3 of these viewable across all browser sizes. Advert 1: a lotto icon. Purpose is that when a viewer sees this they would link it...

EWT Blogs                      k00121609                    2017 Blog 3_week 3: We normally draw up our wireframes in Balsamiq, but since my internet has not been working well, I decided to draw up the wireframes in Adobe Illustrator and later draw these up in Balsamiq. While I was working on this I developed the designs to the step between wireframe and designed prototype. Now I have set out the layout and colour scheme. My selection of the layout was based on research on news and other websites as well as newspapers. In keeping with this I set the layout to geometric and columnar. For the colour scheme I selected the opposite colors  that are usually found in Lotto photographs. The thinking behind this was that the Lotto images tend to have loud, strong and vibrant colors . I selected cool colors  of black, purple, grey and white to form a visual framework to...

EWT Blogs                      k00121609                    2017 Blog 2_week 2: I have continued to watch the “Creating a Responsive Web Design” tutorial. The deadline for the research and design of our project is due 11 th February 2017. The required deliverables are: moodboard, wireframe/prototype, navigation design, Photoshop/ Illustrator design. The css of these will be implemented in the following development project stage. I have been following the exercise files that accompany the Lynda.com tutorial. I find it a good way to understand and learn proactively about what’s being taught. I got most of the html and css to work out except for the display of images in the live preview. I asked my lecturer about this and he found that where in class we all label our images folder in the local route folder as ‘img.’ in the online tutorial the tutor names the file ‘imag...

EWT Blogs                      k00121609                    2017 Blog 1_week 1: I have started a notebook to record the blogs day by day and then write them up in Blogger. In our first lecture we were directed towards resources to study for the course. Our lecturer has provided links for these. From this lecture, I have read the link in lecture 1 slide 17 and looked at “Bootstrap” for CSS widgets. From our second lecture, I have read up on the provided link on Lynda.com called “Creating a Responsive Web Design.”
