Key Points:
  • Use an unique <html> title for landing page(s).
  • Voice searches: stats are 20% of mobile searches are by 'voice search,' in this now described as 'mobile first world.'
  • The 'mobile usability report' (in the 'search traffic section' of the 'Google search console,' use for tips and information.
  • Run important url's through my website.

Technical:
  • Make sure the webpage 'meta tags' are in the correct order i.e. title, description, keywords, as these are what the search engine sees in the search results.
  • Title tag -> ~9 words. Put important words first, before 'SERP Cutoff in Google' limits. ~600px which is ~70 characters are expected including 'spaces' within and between words.
  • Descriptive Tag->~24 words/156 characters including spaces. Important to craft compelling tags for maximum use of available real-estate.
  • Keyword tag->list in order from the 'largest in length' to the 'shortest in length,' and separated by 'commas.'
  • Heading tag->it is best to allow the reader to see them in:
    • the main section and points on a page.
    • a visual cue on a section i.e. what topics are current on a page.
    • a signal to search engines about the tags on a page.
    • put the headings in the <body> in the correct order e.g. <h1><h2><h3><h4> as these behave as pages like a 'Table of Contents.'
Word-count-> to find out how many words are needed on a page: count the number of words on the 'top ranking pages' for my target count. This will give me an idea of what a search engine considers the expected word-count for that topic. This is usually a minimum of ~450 words.

Quality content->this is key, avoid 'low quality and duplicate content. Focus on robust coverage of my website topics to show expertise in that topic subject.
